UNESCO World Heritage Site Salzburg

One of the most beautiful places set in the heart of Europe.

The Old Town of Salzburg is impressive because it combines different architectural styles and charming small streets within a narrow space: the Middle Ages, Romanesque, Renaissance and baroque have all left their architectural marks throughout Salzburg.

Since the Old Town of Salzburg is strictly a pedestrian area it can be effortlessly explored on foot without. Or instead, an enchanting city tour on one of the popular "Fiaker" (horse-carriages) might appeal to you. Take the time to be caught up in and enchanted by the unique atmosphere and brisk city-life that awaits you here.

Among the most impressive buildings are the Dome of Salzburg, Fort Hohensalzburg, the residence, St. Peter's Abbey with its impressive churchyard, the Franciscan and University Churches, the festival district with its large festival hall, the Mozart house, as well as the Felsen riding school and Mirabell Castle with the romantic Mirabell gardens; and, last but not least, Sebastian's Church with its beautiful cemetery.

Castle Hellbrunn with its trick fountains and the zoo are all located outside the city.

Whether you find pleasure in art, shopping in the world famous Getreidegasse, walking or sitting in cafés - Salzburgs has many charming aspects. You can even go on a panoramic boat tour across the Salzach river.
