Hiking Tip 1: City of Salzburg

Start your day full of energy with a hearty breakfast at the sunny terrace of our hotel Haus Arenberg.

Residenzplatz Residenzplatz

Visiting the Old Town and the fortress

With a good pair of shoes you may start the tour through the narrow streets of the Arenberg, crossing the Salzach River over the Nonntaler Bridge to reach the pedestrian zone in the famous Old Town of Salzburg. From there to the left side you could see the old town hidden by the Nonnberg stage building straight to the Nonnberg monastery.

After visiting the monastery, we recommend you to walk along the mountain's ridge, indulge yourself in the unique scenery of the city center and the surroundings of Salzburg. A visit to the Salzburg Fortress is certainly the highlight of your city trip.

Have a beer at the Augustiner Brewhouse

Trolling continuously along the trails of the Mönchsberg to the Museum der Moderne, you could enjoy the breathtaking view of the city and the Salzburg Fortress.

Finishing the Mönschsberg track, it is time to enjoy a glass of beer at the Augustiner Brewhouse. The food stores inside the old house may also please your small or large appetites.

On the way back, embark yourself with a refreshing hike over the mountainous city of Salzburg. After crossing the "Müllner bridge", it takes only 15-20 minutes to return to our hotel.
